One of the World's Most Unique Film Festivals Returns in Year Seven

JIM THORPE, PA - World Class films, culture, and music all dropped into one of America’s most charming small towns; It’s a destination event like no other. The selection process for the 7th Annual Jim Thorpe Independent Film Festival is complete.

Our team of creatives has curated the biggest, broadest, and most exciting program yet.

Our New York, LA, and Europe-based selection team has cultivated more than 90 films to screen, including 11 features. Our international film coordinators will soon finalize the Film Blocks for APRIL 18-21, 2024. The impressive opening night feature is fresh from one of the world’s most prestigious festivals (Title TBA).

Under the guidance of Music & Tech director Matthew Curry, our live music partnership with Great Circles is stronger than ever. The Philadelphia-based music collective is creating a music festival vibe featuring live bands, video artists, DJ’s and the highly anticipated addition of Projection Mapping: a cutting-edge, fully immersive and interactive audio-visual experience.

An impressive array of international A-list talent will be featured with a slew of accomplished local filmmakers.  These artists are some of the best the world has to offer screening alongside gifted filmmakers from Eastern Pennsylvania.

The festival was birthed by a pair of restless New Yorker filmmakers who put down roots in this unique historic small town. And over the last six years, they’ve managed to create a one-of-a-kind event designed to channel the rebellious spirit of the Molly Maguires, often creating controversy while both challenging and entertaining its audience.

“We are proud to present films of every genre and budget,” says Founder Todd Morris, “especially work by maverick filmmakers who strive to break boundaries and push buttons with no fear of controversy.”

JTIFF thrives in a town as versatile as the films and people it represents. The festival will transport you from the Victorian streets of downtown Jim Thorpe to those of Paris, Berlin, Shanghai, or Lagos when the projectors begin to roll.  Over the course of the 4-day event, attendees can mingle with filmmakers from around the world and network with some of the most talented professionals in the industry, all while grabbing lunch at a decades-old cafe in a quintessential American small town.

Downtown Jim Thorpe is studded with eclectic retail stores, quaint coffee shops, breweries, wineries, and atmospheric eateries both new and historic. It’s the Poconos’ premier getaway for outdoor adventure that includes whitewater rafting, biking, and hiking along the Appalachian Trail. Plus, shopping, dining out, and sightseeing on a century-old steam train.
