Wild Elder

Established in 2019, Wild Elder is an urban winery specializing in wines and ciders made from the fruits and flowers that are native or endemic to the backyards, forests, and farms of the Lehigh Valley/Poconos region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. This is the tradition taught to our winemaker by his father, more than 25 years ago, and it continues today at the family homestead in Lehighton, PA. Although you will find many fruits factor into our products, Elderberry is definitely our darling. A culinary wonder and herbal medicinal powerhouse, we use both the flower and the berries of the Elder to create wine, cider, and non-alcoholic syrups. We also specialize in champagne-style ciders, slow and cold fermented in the traditional old-world fashion. Stop by our tasting room in Jim Thorpe to sample the full breadth what we have to offer!
